Kick Off Celebration a Success on Many Levels

St. Ann's Award
Southwest Volusia Habitat for Humanity board members were joined by local churches on Saturday, January 23rd for a Kick Off Celebration for our 20th Anniversary. All who came had a good time learning about what Habitat is doing for their neighbors in southwest Volusia. Check out the photo gallery on Facebook to see the activities. There were two very special awards given, too. The first was to St. Ann's Catholic Church for their continuing support. They have been sponsoring houses with us for over 12 years and continue to do so !!! SWV HFH appreciates their support !!!

Dedication of House #29

Pat & John
In the pouring rain, we celebrated with Pat and John Boccino in Orange City, FL, as they moved into their new Habitat home.  We filled their new pantry and were thrilled to be joined by their church family from DeBary Presbyterian Church.  Visit our Facebook fan page to see photos from the rather wet (but happy) event.

Ground Blessing
With a ground blessing at our current build site- 455 Magnolia Av in Orange City. Hardy and faithful volunteers braved the record cold weather (including sleet and snow flakes) to break ground at our newest house in Orange City. As we begin the new year, we are hard at work on plans to celebrate our 20th year building homes in southwest Volusia county. If you would like to help with our celebrations, call the office at 386-774-1553.

Three new homes !!

A historic event in the life of Southwest Volusia Habitat !! Never before have we had 3 houses ready at once !!!

dedication of 3 houses

On July 18th, we dedicated 3 houses (located at 1886 and 1860 W. Blue Springs and 465 Magnolia).. It was an historic event as we welcomed 3 families to their new homes...and what a crowd we had gathered in the hot Florida sun. Southwest Volusia Habitat for Humanity is SO grateful to all of the volunteers who have made this possible.

Z886 at Build Site
The Z Van

As a special treat on Monday, Jan. 19th, Z88.3 radio joined us for a 'van stop' at our construction site! We listened to our favorite Z artists and songs over the lunch hour.  We really appreciate their participation in our work ending poverty housing in the southwest Volusia area.
